Engaging with communities across Europe
Supporting financial vulnerable people in The Netherlands
There are currently 250,000 financially vulnerable individuals under guardianship in the Netherlands. Visa is working in collaboration with the NBBI in the Netherlands and Orenda Finance on a joint project building an innovative payment solution to empower guardians and support those under guardianship.
The solution gives guardians access to accounts through one platform, helping them effectively open vulnerable individual’s bank accounts and manage their finances.
Olympic values education programme in Turkey
Visa is working in partnership with UNDP and Habitat Association to educate and inspire children in disadvantaged areas in Turkey. The project teaches children about the spirit, symbolism, and significance of the Olympic Games, with the objective of providing them with life skills, fostering their potential in sports, and instilling self-belief in their abilities.
The project activities include training children aged 8-14 on olympic values, sports festivals and motivational conversations with Olympic athletes and a sailing and resilience camp.
11,000 children across Turkey will be reached by the programme, spanning 12 provinces.
Spotlighting refugee women entrepreneurs
This programme shines a spotlight on the remarkable contributions of entrepreneurial refugee women from across Europe, providing them with a platform to tell their stories of resilience and determination.
Each year, Visa honours 20 women from diverse backgrounds who are not only overcoming personal hardships, but are actively reshaping narratives — leaving a lasting positive impact on society.
